A taste of Brazilian life

This post is exceptionaly made in English for our Brazilian friends.

After having spent more than 30 hours in Brazilian buses, it was time for us to chill-out a bit. Indeed, we had the chance to stay by Brazilian friends in two very different cities :

Curitiba (Parana's state capital, 2 millions people)

Right after Foz do Iguacu, we arrived in Curitiba where Filipe (alias G-String), a friend that Vincent met in Australia back in 2004, offered to stay in his place. He is living in a very nice neighborhood of the city. Curitiba is very well organized, clean and safe. Which is very much appreciate by Brazilian. We spent 3 days discovering the multiple sight of this city (parks, theatre, street market, etc.). Unfortunately, we had to "enjoy" the Brazilian winter... 3 days of rain :-( ! This bad weather allowed us to chill-out at home (watching DVD, spleeping well, etc.) and also to spend time in very good restaurants including the biggest one in Americas (well this one wasn't so good). It was really great to meet Filipe again after 5 years and hope to be able to welcome him in Europe soon !

Sao Paulo (the 5th world biggest city, 20 millions people)

Cassia, ex-volleyball mate of Leila, picked us up in the main bus terminal. This bus terminal looks like an airport... so huge ! Actually, evertything is huge here ! Cassia is living in the South of the city in a very nice appartment. The view from its 8th floor overlooking a forest of building is amazing. As she was working during the day, we explored the city by our own. With her, we went to a traditional market where we tasted the famous "bacalhau". After having enjoyed the night life in a samba party, we went for a walk in the beautiful park of Ibirapuera. On August 1st, Swiss national day, we had the chance to eat a "Raclette". So good to have some Swiss cheese ! It was "que legal" to spend some time with Cassia in this city !
